Kennett Bikeways
UNDER DEVELOPMENT
Kennett Square, PA
12 to 17 mile road routes for cyclists
The Kennett Bikeways offer different routes for seeing the many sights in Kennett Square, and for helping residents just to get around. The backbone is the Loop, a 17 mile route selected to rely on the lowest stress streets available. Other connectors include easy options to get to downtown Kennett from the Loop. Our goal is to use feedback from riders to identify sections for improvement, and then advocate for changes to make more of the route more comfortable for as many riders as possible. We think that the many sights along the way will bring even more experienced cyclists to Kennett.

The Loop
Auburn Valley State Park to Spar Hill Farm
Bike on paths and roads for a moderately stressful and relatively low effort ride. This 3 mile section is equivalent to a 4 mile flat ride, because of a total elevation gain of 338 feet, with less than 5% at moderate grades or greater. Most cyclists will 2/3's of the route to be comfortable, but about a half mile to be quite uncomfortable because of sections with high traffic stress or uphill sections with moderate stress

East of the Red Clay, you pass by the remains of the old Snuff Mill, where Dew Point Brewery and Garrison's Cyclery are now located. After crossing Creek Rd, the trail ends at the Center for the Creative Arts, although you can continue on the Auburn Valley Connector on Upper Snuff Mill Rd towards Oversee Farm Trail.
