The Perkiomen Trail is a 20 mile shared use path (about 40 miles round trip) between Oaks and Perkiomenville. The closest trailhead (at the Lower Perkiomen Valley Park in Oaks, PA) is about 50 minutes away. You can download a brochure with mileage here.

Oaks to Rahn
A Very Easy 13 mile shared use path 45 minutes away
Other features: This is a quiet largely shaded trail, running alongside the Perkiomen Creek along most of its length.

Connections: Continue north from Rahn towards Schwenksville and back to add 10 miles to your round trip.
Getting there: Click here (or on the map to the left) for directions to the trailhead at Lower Perkiomen Valley Park (the closest to Kennett Square).

Universal Access (UA): The overall path does not meet standards for Shared Use Paths with respect to running grade with an Overall Grade Rating of Flat, though it does approach criteria for a Universal Access Pedestrian Trial. It otherwise meets all standards for surface, obstacles, cross-slope, and passing spaces.

​Effort: This 6 mile out and back shared use path (12 miles round trip) has a Flat Equivalent Length of 1.5 miles and merits a Cumulative Grade Rating of Flat. Depending on the direction, the longest continuous grades are as follows: a 50-90' section with at least easy grades, a 10-20' section with at least easy to moderate grades, and a 10' section with at least moderate grades.

Stress: As a shared use path, this is generally rated as very low stress for most users.

Rahn to Schwenksville
An Easy 12 mile shared use path 55 minutes away
Other features: This is a quiet, largely shaded trail, running alongside the Perkiomen Creek along most of its length.

Connections: Continue to the northern end past Green Lane and back to add 10.6 miles to your round trip. Continuing south to Lower Perkiomen Valley Park will add 13 miles to your round trip.
Getting there: Click here (or on the map above) for directions to the Rahn's trailhead (about a one hour drive).

Universal Access (UA): The overall path does not meet standards for Shared Use Paths with respect to running grade with an Overall Grade Rating of Easy. It otherwise meets all standards for surface, obstacles, cross-slope, and passing spaces.

Effort: This 5 mile out and back shared use path (10 miles round trip) has a Flat Equivalent Length of 1.5 miles and merits a Cumulative Grade Rating of Easy. Depending on the direction, the longest continuous grades are as follows: a 140-220' section with at least easy grades, a 30-190' section with at least easy to moderate grades, and a 30-190' section with at least moderate grades.

Stress: As a shared use path, this is generally rated as very low stress for most users. Some wheelchair users will find some of the long downhill sections with moderate grades to be stressful.
